The f7 remains the best-selling model for Haval, with around twelve thousand units sold in 2021. The f7X cross-coupe added another ten thousand buyers. After the latest update, even more customers are likely to consider this Chinese crossover, and shortages of competing models work in the brand’s favor.

Several changes are expected to appeal to buyers. An automotive editor, widely recognized in the Russian market, explained how the updated model differs from the pre-facelift version beyond the exterior look and highlighted the improvements.

1. Several controls have moved to physical keys, which are easier to use on the go than on-screen options. Temperature control remains on the screen for some functions, while heating and ventilation can be activated physically. The driver’s seat adjustment is now fully managed by the screen.

2. The instrument cluster now measures 12 inches diagonally and matches the size of the multimedia screen, making readings easier to read in the dynamic drive mode, which offers three distinct setups.

3. A dual-zone climate system is available as an option, though it cannot be ordered with every trim. If this upgrade isn’t needed, buyers can skip it without any compromise.

4. The windshield is heated across its entire surface, improving visibility in poor weather. A larger washer reservoir of 4.5 liters is a helpful bonus.

5. Engineers recalibrated the throttle and gear-shifting logic of the dual-clutch transmission to deliver noticeably livelier performance. There can still be small delays, but they are no longer critical, especially when overtaking or accelerating.

The suspension and steering, however, did not see changes. Small road imperfections continue to be felt through the chassis, and questions persist about the rear axle and power steering.

Further details on these and other features of the updated Haval f7 can be found in the new issue of the automotive magazine overview, which is now on sale. The material builds on an earlier article that discussed the cadence of the powertrain and the engine mounts in the same publication.
