Modern methods such as Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) use specialized hooks and adhesives to restore panels while preserving the original paint. This approach minimizes additional costs and keeps the vehicle’s appearance intact, provided the paint surface has not been compromised.
As an illustration, a few months ago a client brought in two European-imported SUVs, a BMW X5 and an X7, after a hail event. One vehicle sustained above-average damage while the other remained relatively light. The total repair cost was substantial, reflecting the extent of the work required, and the project duration spanned about a week, illustrating how complex even a single hail incident can be for premium models.
Indeed, the current market for hail repair emphasizes efficiency and preserving factory finishes. PDR has become a preferred solution because it reduces downtime and keeps resale value higher compared to traditional panel replacement or repainting, especially when the damage is mostly cosmetic and the paint remains intact.
