Tire production under the Torero brand began at the Gislaved tire plant in Kaluga, a development confirmed by industry reports from mkkaluga.ru, which cited the press service of S8 Capital.
Officials stressed that the Kaluga facility adheres to the strict quality standards established by the German parent company in tire manufacturing. The plant relies on modern technologies, up-to-date equipment, and the expertise accumulated by the Kaluga team to ensure consistent product quality, according to Pavel Borodatov, the general director of the Gisloved (Gislaved) tire plant.
According to the statements, the Kaluga factory is set to produce three Torero tire models designed for crossovers and sport utility vehicles, expanding the range available to regional markets and potential export channels.
The Continental Kaluga plant began operations in 2013 and started exporting tires two years later, though operations were suspended indefinitely in March 2022. In May 2023, control of the German company shifted to the Russian Cordiant group, which is part of the S8 Capital holding, and the facility subsequently adopted the Gislaved brand name.
Vadim Strelbitsky, who previously served as the director of the mechanical repair department at Avilon Kia, noted that after changing the oil, an unpleasant knocking noise can appear in an engine. He explained that one possible cause is improper oil quantity, either too little or too much, which can lead to engine performance concerns.
Earlier reports from carnewschina.com mentioned that the Neta L crossover, featuring a notably large cabin screen, was slated for launch in the Chinese market, signaling ongoing attention to new vehicle integrations and display technology across major markets.
