Geely is expanding its lineup in Russia with the refreshed Atlas crossover slated to begin sales in 2024, alongside the introduction of the Geely Okavango, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta and statements attributed to Ilya Petrov, who serves as the retail sales manager for the Avilon automobile group. The plan signals a broader push by Geely to widen its presence in the Russian market during the coming year.
Petrov indicated that 2024 will bring a wave of new Geely products to Russia, beginning with the Atlas crossover positioned for the first quarter. He also confirmed that the Geely Okavango will follow later in the year, expanding Geely’s seven-seat SUV options for Russian customers. The announcements align with a strategy to refresh the brand’s local lineup and offer updated features that appeal to families seeking space, comfort, and value.
The updated Okavango model was already released in China toward the end of November, bringing a seven-seat interior and a two-liter Volvo-sourced engine delivering 218 horsepower. The crossover benefits from an upgraded interior trim and an improved media system that enhances connectivity and cabin usability. In China, the automaker has also begun selling the next-generation Atlas crossover, with Gabriel certification documents showing ongoing regional rollouts for the Atlas family. These moves underscore Geely’s intent to synchronize product updates across key markets.
Earlier in China, Geely also launched the Galaxy E8 sedan, signaling a broader push into a diversified lineup that blends contemporary design with practical performance. This strategy mirrors Geely’s global approach of aligning new technology, efficient powertrains, and modern interiors to cater to both family-oriented buyers and those seeking a more dynamic driving experience. As Geely continues to expand its portfolio, Russian customers can anticipate a steady cadence of model introductions, feature enhancements, and aftersales support that reflect the brand’s commitment to reliability and value.
