A Chinese automaker has begun retailing the Trumpchi ES9 crossover, according to Autohome. Prices start at 300,000 yuan, which was roughly 4 million rubles at the exchange rate reported at the time of publication.
The GAC Trumpchi ES9 is a three-row SUV that seats up to seven people, including the driver. The second row can be configured as either a three-seat bench or two individual seats with optional heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
Measured at 5115 mm in length with a 2920 mm wheelbase, the ES9 pairs a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 190 hp and an electric motor delivering 182 hp, supplemented by a lithium-ion battery. The combined output reaches 373 hp.
A suite of safety and driver-assistance features accompanies the ES9, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, tire-pressure monitoring, and more. The system also provides automatic parking capabilities.
Earlier reports suggested a compact Volkswagen crossover would debut in 2026, according to a separate statement.
