A total of nine sets of crossover tires in the popular size 215/65 R16 took part in this comprehensive test. The price range was broad, reflecting a wide spectrum from value-focused options to premium models. For example, Viatti Bosco H/TV-238 is currently priced around 10,000 rubles per tire, while the PremiumContact 6 stands out as one of the most expensive options, with a price near 60,000 rubles for a full set in February.
Additionally included in the evaluation were the following models: Tigar Summer SUV, Cordiant Comfort 2 SUV, Nordman S2 SUV, Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV, Yokohama Geolandar CV G058, Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K-125, and Nokian Hakka Blue 3 SUV.
When discussing comfort, the assessment is based on interior noise and ride softness.
Here are the top three performers for comfort, focusing on smoothness and low sound levels.
3rd place. Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV
The tires demonstrated the lowest rolling resistance and the softest ride among all the sets. At the same time, the experts noted only minor issues with handling. Interior noise and overall ride behavior were so favorable that the comfort score approached the maximum possible 54 points.
2nd place. Nokian Hakka Blue 3 SUV
Nokian proved to be even more comfortable, delivering a near-record level of internal quiet. The drawbacks include not exceptional aquaplaning resistance. Once on the road, especially on wet pavement, they offer excellent lateral grip. They also excel in cold-weather braking and generally perform with dependable reliability.
1st place. Continental Premium Contact 6
In comfort, Continental matches Nokian with a score of 54.5 points. The model delivers the best acoustic comfort and, despite a tendency toward aquaplaning, has long been recognized for strong braking performance and solid handling. Overall, it secured another victory, though its price is comparatively high.
Who leads overall?
With equal comfort scores, the jury assigns the top overall spot to Continental tires, noting that the overall test results show a touch more confidence in their performance. However, Nokian holds a significant advantage in price, being nearly half the cost of the Continental tires. This makes final buyer choice a matter of personal priorities.
Close to the top in comfort, with identical scores of 54, were three other contenders: Cordiant Comfort 2 SUV, Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K-125, and Yokohama Geolandar CV G058. These models also earned praise for their smoothness and quiet rides, but each brought additional strengths that influenced overall ranking depending on the buyer’s needs.
