The cost of owning a Volkswagen ID.6 electric vehicle in the Krasnodar region aligns closely with expenses in Moscow and St. Petersburg, though it edges the latter two in overall five-year ownership. This conclusion comes from an analysis conducted by the marketing agency NAPI, which reviewed total cost of ownership based on current market data.

According to the study, a five-year ownership package for the ID.6 shows total costs of approximately 3.06 million rubles in St. Petersburg, 3.09 million rubles in Moscow, and 3.13 million rubles in the Krasnodar Territory. Within this framework, maintenance costs emerge as the most significant driver, with Moscow registering the highest maintenance figure among the three regions. Over five years, Moscow’s maintenance costs amount to about 24.4 thousand rubles annually, versus roughly 21.6 thousand rubles in St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.

When considering routine repairs, Moscow drivers are projected to spend about 103.7 thousand rubles over the period, slightly higher than the 101.2 thousand rubles anticipated in the other two cities.

Energy costs also differ by region. In Krasnodar Territory, charging an electric vehicle at fast charging stations over a total distance of 75,000 kilometers is expected to cost around 245 thousand rubles. This figure is marginally higher than Saint Petersburg’s 242.8 thousand rubles but noticeably more than Moscow’s 205.2 thousand rubles for the same distance.

Overall, the analysis highlights that while capital city costs can be elevated for certain line items, regional factors such as electricity pricing, service availability, and local maintenance rates shape the total ownership expense for the ID.6 across major Russian markets.

These findings illustrate how regional economics influence the affordability of electric mobility, underscoring the importance for potential buyers to consider not just the sticker price but also long-term operating costs when evaluating EV ownership in different parts of the country.
