The ACL-3.0-50-24 fire apparatus has been integrated into the new generation of rescue vehicles built on the K5 KamAZ chassis. This tanker with a ladder is engineered for elevated work and for delivering extinguishing agents directly into the fire zone. The crew aboard the unit consists of two specialists. The vehicle is developed on the two-axle KamAZ-63934 platform, a model not yet in large-scale production.
The cab remains true to the K5 family lineage, sharing design DNA with the KamAZ-54901 mainline tractors, but it sits lower, is shorter, and omits a sleeping compartment. Its standout feature is an automated control and monitoring system that oversees the entire fire-engine configuration, coordinating all critical subsystems with precision.
Under the cab, a 310 horsepower, 6.7-liter inline turbo diesel engine drives the machine. The powerplant meets Euro-5 environmental standards. This unit is believed to be the Cummins ISB6.7E6 310, produced in Naberezhnye Chelny, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission equipped with a power take-off. The fire pump delivers substantial performance at 50 liters per second. The aluminum superstructure conceals a 3000-liter water tank, while the foam reservoir accounts for a minimum capacity of 180 liters to support rapid foam operations.
The ladder can be elevated to a 75-degree angle and reaches up to 14 meters when carrying a load at height. When deployed as a crane, the ACL’s lifting capacity is 1 ton. The vehicle’s weight distribution places up to 9000 kg on the front axle and as much as 13000 kg on the rear axle.
Currently undergoing final adjustments to electronic systems, the vehicle is slated for testing and use by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Earlier this year, in June, the plant showcased two additional versions of fire trucks built on the KamAZ-63934 platform.
Details about the collaboration behind the development are not disclosed in the official press release from the manufacturer. It is noteworthy that Miass Priority stands as one of Russia’s leading makers of firefighting equipment mounted on various chassis, and information about an AC-4.0-50/4 built on KamAZ-63934 is available on Priority’s site.
