Authorities reported that officers noticed a Nissan car carrying passengers displaying signs of alcohol intoxication. When the vehicle did not comply with a stop request, a chase ensued. During the pursuit, the officer fired warning shots into the air, followed by several bullets aimed at the car’s wheels. The intruding vehicle subsequently collided with a street lighting pole and overturned, leading to a grave outcome.
According to the committee, the 55-year-old driver, a resident of the village of Yuzhnoye, died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. It was initially stated that a bullet ricocheted off the car body and struck the victim. A 48-year-old passenger in the Nissan was hospitalized with injuries. Investigators have ordered automotive and ballistic examinations, along with a range of other inquiries, to establish the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident. The actions of all parties involved will be reviewed by law enforcement under legal procedures.
