In Makhachkala, a blackmail scheme unfolded involving the theft of a man’s Lada Kalina and threats to release a video containing what was described as confidential conciliatory evidence. The information surfaced through a Telegram channel associated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, which reported the incident and timeline surrounding the crime.
Investigators identified two suspects, aged 27 and 28, residents of Buynaksk. They allegedly coordinated with a 22-year-old woman living in Kaspiysk, who had previously provided sexual services. The two men are said to have gone to the woman’s rented apartment, set up a hidden recording on her phone, and hidden themselves in an adjacent room to monitor events.
According to the report, when a 29-year-old man from Makhachkala arrived to use the services, the suspects burst into the room and began threatening to publish the recorded video online. They demanded a payment of 150,000 rubles, leveraging the video as leverage to coerce money from the victim.
Following the confrontation, the accused allegedly took the victim’s Lada Kalina and ultimately sold the car. The proceeds were divided among the conspirators. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers extortion.
Earlier coverage noted another incident involving the same driver, described as a drift on a rooftop in Nizhny Novgorod, indicating a pattern of risky behaviors linked to the same network of individuals. This broader context underscores how coercive tactics can intersect with criminal activity across locations and scenarios, prompting authorities to pursue a coordinated investigation.
