During an internal inspection, a film was found in one of Mosfilm’s office buildings containing a documentary shot of Evgeny Urbansky on set. The actor was 33 years old at the time of his death in a car accident. It happened in November 1965 in Uzbekistan on the set of the movie “Director.”
The documentary reveals how Urbansky appeared on the scene, accompanied by a stunt driver, as the production prepared a scene where a car performing a jump would breach the dune and briefly overtake the motorcade. In the course of the stunt, Urbansky sustained a severe head injury and passed away later in hospital. The footage captures the tense atmosphere on set, the meticulous planning of the stunt, and the human cost that can accompany dramatic action in filmmaking.
These recordings are being released to the public for the first time, offering researchers and fans a rare glimpse into a mid-1960s Soviet film project and the real-world dangers involved in stunt work during that era.

Without suitable equipment, public safety measures cannot be guaranteed and medical care cannot reach those in need. The initiative surrounding the release of the footage highlights the practical needs that support emergency and public service operations.
In collaboration with civic groups, the program began raising funds to purchase tires for vehicles used by law enforcement and operational services, including ambulances, emergency response units, humanitarian aid delivery, and military support apparatus.
