Every year, Electromobili Manufacturing RUS LLC targets the production of 1,000 electric SUVs built on the long-wheelbase UAZ Profi platform. The company asserts that the vehicle’s synchronous electric motor, power electronics, and the software that governs its operation are all manufactured in Russia, showcasing a fully domestic propulsion stack and control system.
The model, branded EVM PRO, has a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tons. It offers a payload capacity of up to one ton and is designed to travel up to 300 kilometers on a single charge, even when temperatures drop. A notable feature is its autonomous climate control, which operates on a diesel-driven system and is designed so the battery charge remains largely available for propulsion rather than cabin heating, an arrangement aimed at maintaining range in challenging weather conditions.
The SUV is equipped with a 120 horsepower electric motor that weighs about 50 kilograms, paired with an 80 kWh battery. The battery is positioned as a cost-efficient component, with a price point reported to be under 500,000 rubles, contributing to the overall affordability of the platform compared with many alternatives in the segment.
Charging for three hours on a standard household electrical outlet is said to extend the driving range by roughly 100 kilometers, though field data indicates commercial vans and similar service vehicles can cover around 200 kilometers daily without needing a recharge, depending on operating conditions and duty cycles.
From an operating expense perspective, the cost to drive a kilometer on EVM PRO is claimed to be more than twice cheaper than comparable internal combustion engine vehicles, with an estimated cost of about 6 rubles per kilometer. This improvement in running costs is presented as a strong incentive for fleets and private buyers seeking lower total cost of ownership over time.
The market price for an EVM PRO is listed at 3.5 million rubles. Buyers may benefit from state subsidies that entitle a deduction of 650 thousand rubles, bringing the net purchase price to roughly 2.85 million rubles. Production of the EVM PRO is slated to commence within the current year, and service support is planned to be available through authorized UAZ dealerships, ensuring access to maintenance and parts through official channels.
