Eight people, among them two children, were wounded in a road incident in the Vologda region. The information came from the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was reported by TASS.
The crash happened on the 20th kilometer of the Vologda–Rostilovo highway. Early findings indicate that a Nissan Gloria driver, who was turning left toward the village of Vasilyevskoye, failed to yield and collided with a Lada Granta. The impact sent the Granta into a Toyota Prius. Five occupants in the Nissan sustained injuries, while three people in the Lada were hurt.
Five adults with a range of injuries were transported to the Vologda Regional Clinical Hospital. The two children were also admitted. A two-year-old was diagnosed with a fracture at the occipital region of the skull, brain contusions, and lung contusions. The four-year-old was found to have a bruised knee and a concussion. According to the Vologda Regional agency, the Nissan driver experienced a concussion, and the Lada driver sustained a closed head injury along with rib bruising and a concussion.
Earlier reports mentioned a truck cabin in the Primorsky Territory that had been flattened in a separate accident, though the details and timing of that incident were not connected to the Vologda case.
