News outlets report that the Russian electric car E-Neva is slated to enter serial production by the end of 2026, with details provided by Mikhail Podvyaznikov, who serves as Deputy Director General at Almaz-Antey Concern VKO JSC. Podvyaznikov notes that if plans stay on track, the first small batch could roll out at the start of 2026, and by year’s end there is a strong expectation for full mass production. The projected annual output is in the vicinity of 55,000 to 65,000 units.
The E-Neva was showcased to President Vladimir Putin during a visit to St. Petersburg. Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, indicated that the E-Neva electric vehicle will be more affordable than comparable models from American competitors, including Tesla.
The vehicle is planned to be powered by a 435 horsepower twin engine system. Such a configuration is expected to accelerate from zero to 60 kilometers per hour in about 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of approximately 197 kilometers per hour. The car’s range on a single charge is anticipated to be around 463 kilometers.
In related news, the Russian market is also seeing Evolute i-Sky, a crossover that will be a localized version of the Dongfeng Forthing Thunder model, expanding the lineup of domestically produced electric vehicles.
