In Khakasya, a driver who appeared intoxicated drew the attention of police after signaling with a turn indicator. This incident was reported by MIA Media.
The Sayanogorsk traffic police were patrolling the streets when they noticed the Nissan Patrol driver. On a stretch where overtaking is prohibited, the off-road vehicle slowed and flashed the right turn signal to suggest that overtaking was allowed. This act immediately drew the inspectors’ scrutiny. They signaled the driver to stop, but he accelerated, veered onto a country road covered in light snow, and attempted to flee the pursuit. The chase ended when the driver reached a dead end, at which point officers detained him.
An examination revealed the driver, a 33-year-old resident of Sayanogorsk, had a blood alcohol content of 1,024 mg/l. A report was filed for drunk driving and for disregarding the stop signal. The Jeep was towed to a private parking lot, effectively removing it from circulation. [Source: MIA Media]
In a related report, an incident in the Urals described a pedestrian assault on a female driver for not activating her turn signal. This ongoing pattern underscores the broader concerns about street safety and lawful driving conduct.
