In 2024, eight new models from the Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng are set to enter the Russian car market, according to Motorinvest, the brand’s distributor in Russia, as reported by the analytical agency Avtostat. The plan signals a broader push by Dongfeng into the Russian automotive segment, expanding the lineup beyond current offerings and aiming to capture more customers across different price points and body styles.

Within the Dongfeng Aeolus family, the Shine Max business sedan will be supported by three additional vehicles. The mid-size AX7 crossover broadens the brand’s SUV range, while Mage adds another compact option with a modern design. On the premium side, the full-size Huge crossover is positioned to attract buyers seeking higher comfort and larger dimensions. In the budget class, the compact 500 crossover is expected to broaden entry-level choices. In the D-segment category, three substantial crossovers are planned: the 600 SUV, the ix5 coupe-crossover with a sporty silhouette, and the seven-seat all-wheel-drive ix7. The schedule for when these models will reach showrooms has not been disclosed.

At present, the Russian Dongfeng lineup includes the Shine Max sedan, the DF6 all-wheel-drive pickup, and the seven-seat Dongfeng 580 crossover. Based on the year-to-date performance through November, Dongfeng’s sales in Russia reached 625 vehicles. Analysts note that these figures reflect early market reception and evolving consumer interest in Chinese brands within the region. The current momentum suggests stronger exposure for Dongfeng as new models begin to arrive and compete in a market that is increasingly open to diverse brands and configurations.

Earlier reports indicated that Dongfeng was preparing to broaden its product assortment for Russia, aiming to meet a wider array of buyer requirements. The new introductions are expected to address several segments, from practical family SUVs and business-oriented sedans to premium crossovers and versatile seven-seat models, thereby enhancing the manufacturer’s presence in the Russian automotive landscape.
