The Gosuslugi Avto mobile application has expanded to include a digital version of the driver’s license and a digital copy of the vehicle registration certificate (STS) as a second essential document routinely checked by traffic police. Both digital documents can be shown without internet access, offering a practical alternative to paper copies for everyday road checks.
This upgrade is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Since its launch in 2021, Gosuslugi Avto has attracted more than 2.5 million active users. The digital documents feature is built to speed up roadside verification while ensuring that digital records carry the same legal weight as their paper counterparts. Authorities remind drivers that having digital documents in the app does not remove the obligation to carry the original driver’s license and the original STS in the vehicle, as required by applicable regulations.
