In the Leningrad region, law enforcement officers detained a driver who had transformed his vehicle into an improvised pharmaceutical workshop. This development was reported by the Telegram channel Baza, which has been closely tracking the case.

On May 8, in the Tosnensky district, traffic police halted a Dodge Ram. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Vladislav P., appeared visibly anxious during the stop. Officers uncovered 20 cans and three barrels containing unidentified liquids in the pickup, with a total weight exceeding 70 kilograms. The scene suggested a more extensive operation, and the officers proceeded with a thorough examination of the vehicle.

Investigators revealed that nearly a hundred kilograms of chemical precursors used in the production of mephedrone were present in the car. Further inquiries established that the detainee had constructed a covert storage site in a field near the village of Khittolovo, where he disposed of production waste. In a separate search conducted at his residence in the American Village, investigators uncovered additional evidence: glassware, a chemical reactor, scales, various processing equipment, protective masks, and 35 pallets of mephedrone weighing a combined total of 146 kilograms. These discoveries indicated a coordinated operation involving both mobile and stationary components.

Earlier, reports from the St. north of St. Petersburg described a case involving a carpooling scenario in which a live sheep was found in the trunk. The investigation noted that five people from Uzbekistan were aboard, with only two holding permission to reside in the Russian Federation. In another incident in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg, traffic police stopped a vehicle and found two live sheep confined in the trunk, tragically suffocating in an airless space. The officers intervened to rescue the animals and ensured their safety as part of the roadside enforcement activity.

In April, authorities also reported the discovery of cartridges, horns, and primers associated with AK-47 during a check of a Mercedes-Benz parked in a lot. The vehicle had been left unattended for several days and was slated for auction due to its derelict condition. A 44-year-old man named Andrei conducted a routine assessment and uncovered the ammunition, raising concerns about the potential misuse of the vehicle.

Earlier records mention a Tyumen driver who denied boarding a vehicle with a traffic officer, citing claustrophobia as the reason for hesitation. The incident underscores the variety of scenarios that law enforcement encounters on regional roads, ranging from suspected illicit chemical activity to the handling of live animals and the discovery of prohibited arms materials. The ongoing investigations emphasize the importance of vigilant policing, adherence to safety protocols, and rapid response to any signs of danger or illegal activity on public highways and nearby properties.
