In the Crimean Republic a collision between a bus and a truck left 43 people injured. The report was shared by the Crimean Ministry of Health through its Telegram channel and outlines injuries ranging from serious to mild. The bulletin notes that many victims required hospital care while others received on site assistance.

Of the injured, 28 were admitted to medical facilities across the region, including several children. Fifteen more lightly injured individuals were able to stand with assistance at the scene or during transfer to care.

On March 24, the Crimean Prosecutor’s Press Service announced that a criminal case had been opened regarding unsafe services and the operation of the SDA and the functioning of the vehicles involved in the crash.

Preliminary data indicate that at 07:30 Moscow Time on the Simferopol Evpatoria route near the village of Okromnoy a trailer collided with the roadside edge as the bus traveled along the Arkadyevka Simferopol stretch. Traffic on the Arkadyevka Simferopol segment was disrupted as investigators secured the scene and began documentation.

The reason why the bus swerved has not yet been clarified, and investigators are reviewing traffic conditions, vehicle behavior, and possible contributing factors.

Initial information suggested the bus driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, contributing to a mass accident. Authorities are examining driver fatigue, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols as part of the ongoing inquiry.

As the case unfolds, officials emphasize the role of regional health and transport agencies in coordinating emergency response, hospital admissions, and safety measures designed to prevent similar incidents on the region’s roads.

In many such investigations, authorities assess maintenance records, driver schedules, speed data, and witness statements while collecting medical and traffic data. The aim is to determine responsibility, ensure accountability, and strengthen safety practices on public transport routes.

The incident underscores the importance of rapid medical response, accurate reporting, and robust safety oversight for road transport networks. Regional authorities continue to monitor the situation, support affected families, and review procedures to reduce the likelihood of a recurrence on Crimean thoroughfares.
