The Suburban District Court in the Sverdlovsk Region ordered 214.5 thousand rubles in damages after a driver damaged a traffic-violation monitoring camera. The incident was reported through the Telegram channel of the Staff Police of the Sverdlovsk Region and involved a resident of Nizhny Tagil.
According to the case records, Antonov V. deliberately damaged the KRIS-P complex, a system used for recording traffic violations, by pushing it into a roadside ditch. The impact caused the camera to fall, resulting in a distortion of its geometry and malfunctions in the viewfinder and the device’s video camera. The court determined that the damage was the result of intentional actions by the defendant.
The camera damage occurred in the spring of 2022 near the village of Krasnopolye in the Prigorodny district of the Sverdlovsk region. The owner of the camera, UGMK-Telecom LLC, sought monetary compensation to cover remedial repairs, and the court awarded the full amount of 214.5 thousand rubles. The defendant accepted the claim, bringing the case to a resolution in court. [Attribution: Telegram channel Staff Police of the Sverdlovsk Region]
In a separate note, it was reported that AvtoVAZ would be collecting Lada Granta and Niva on a Saturday, a detail that appeared in local coverage around the same period but is unrelated to the traffic camera dispute. The focus of the legal action remained the damage to the KRIS-P complex and the financial responsibility for its repair.
