In Cherepovets, an old homicide case has been closed with a new confession after a long pause in the investigation. The crime, which claimed the life of a taxi driver, occurred on the night of May 9, 2005. Local authorities from the SU IC of Russia for the Vologda region reported that the victim, a 45-year-old man, was contacted by his colleagues via radio to report the assault. He was found seriously wounded with a knife injury in the courtyard on Parkovaya Street and died shortly after being hospitalized. The case remained unsolved for years, with no identification of the perpetrator and the investigation suspended for a long period of time.
