Chinese Vehicles Reach the Russian Market: Forland, Jetour, and New Crossovers
A new batch of Forland trucks has surfaced in Russia, imported from China. The MB Russian company serves as the importer, according to reports from the Quto.ru portal.
The portal notes that the basic chassis will be available to Russian buyers in July, with versions featuring various add-ons arriving in the fall. The first model in the lineup is the Forland 3, a three-and-a-half-ton truck set to compete with Gazelle Next. The Chinese truck is priced at a minimum of 3.26 million rubles and will be equipped with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine delivering 157 horsepower.
Meanwhile, the flagship in the range is the Forland 12, a nearly twelve-ton model powered by a 4.5-liter engine producing 209 horsepower. It is expected to be purchasable for around 5.5 million rubles.
In related news, there are reports that a new modification of the Jetour T2 crossover will hit the Russian market by the end of autumn. Media sources indicate this version will come with an eight-speed automatic transmission equipped with a Chery torque converter, a setup also used in the Exeed TXL and the Chery Arrizo 8. At present, only the Jetour T2 equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is available in Russia.
In September, a compact crossover named X50 is anticipated to debut on the Russian market. It is expected to feature a 1.5-liter engine delivering 147 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. Later, the X70 crossover is planned to appear, along with the Jetour X90 Plus and Dashing all-wheel-drive variants.
Previously, a Chinese automobile company opened an official automobile center in Crimea, signaling ongoing expansion in the region.
Sources note these developments as part of broader efforts by Chinese brands to strengthen a presence in Russia, with localization, pricing, and service networks becoming key elements in market strategy. Analysts suggest that buyers in North America and Canada will be watching the pace of model introductions, aftersales support, and total cost of ownership for these new imports. The trend reflects a growing interest in cost-efficient commercial vehicles and affordable crossovers from Chinese manufacturers, alongside established Russian models and competing European options. Future shipments and the availability of parts and service will influence consumer perception and the pace of adoption in both markets.
