Chery Arrizo 8 to Enter Russia with Competitive Specs and Pricing

Chery has unveiled plans to bring its flagship Arrizo 8 sedan to the Russian market, according to reports from a Chinese automotive portal. The company is currently surveying potential buyers in Russia to gauge interest and expectations for the new model.

In Russia, Arrizo 8 is expected to compete with popular mid-size sedans such as the Kia Cerato, Hyundai Elantra, and even the Toyota Camry. Although the model has not yet gone on sale in China, orders are set to open there on August 26. Pricing for Arrizo 8 is projected to range from 105.9 thousand to 128.9 thousand yuan, translating to roughly 950,000 to 1,150,000 Russian rubles at current exchange rates.

The standard configuration of Arrizo 8 will include a comprehensive safety package featuring ten airbags, USB connectivity for rear passengers, and more. The higher-end trim is expected to add a panoramic roof, a head-up display, a facial recognition system, a driver fatigue monitoring sensor, and power-adjustable front seats.

Powertrain options for Arrizo 8 include a 1.5-liter turbo engine delivering 156 horsepower and a 1.6-liter turbo engine producing 197 horsepower. Transmission choices will be a seven-speed robotic transmission or a CVT, offering a balance of performance and efficiency for varied driving preferences.

Earlier announcements indicated that Omoda, a Chery subsidiary, plans to introduce the C5 crossover to the Russian market later in the autumn, signaling a broader expansion of the brand in the region.
