In Chelyabinsk, a man who had been drinking attempted to steal a car but could not start it. He ended up pushing the vehicle out of the yard by himself, according to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chelyabinsk region.

The individual contacted the Sovetsky police department in Chelyabinsk to report the theft of a VAZ-2106 that occurred on March 8, near 8 March Street during the night. Law enforcement officers located the car in a nearby yard. The Ministry of Internal Affairs press service confirmed that a local resident with a prior conviction was implicated in the incident.

The suspect was identified as a 24-year-old man who had previously been convicted of a similar offense. Authorities stated that, while intoxicated, he found the vehicle and attempted to start it. He drove the car into a nearby garden, but the engine would not start. As a result, he abandoned the car in the adjacent garden and disappeared from the scene. A criminal case has been opened against the resident under Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The report also notes a separate, unrelated incident involving a taxi driver who faced gunfire after refusing to open a barrier in a residential area in another region. This detail underscores ongoing safety concerns for drivers and residents in similar settings.
