Cadillac has unveiled the Sollei convertible concept, as reported by motor.ru. The new study car builds on the Celestiq electric platform but explores a distinct path: a one-off, highly customized vehicle crafted for special orders. The concept captivates with an original silhouette and a bold interior that experiments with materials, including the Thin Mycelium biomaterial, which incorporates mushroom-derived mycelium for texture and sustainability.

The Sollei showcases a sizable lifestyle-oriented interior, featuring a 55-inch display and a built-in refrigerator. Among its quirky conveniences is a kit designed for bird enthusiasts, which comprises various bird-attracting devices, a photo album, and a leather case for writing instruments. These touches illustrate Cadillac’s willingness to blend whimsy with high-end luxury in a vehicle intended to satisfy highly specific tastes.

Under the skin, the car can be equipped with a twin-motor powertrain producing roughly 600 horsepower. When fully configured, the convertible promises a substantial remaining range, capable of about 500 kilometers on a single charge, highlighting a balance between performance and practicality in a bespoke format.

Separately from Cadillac’s concept, it was publicly announced that pre-sales have begun in China for an updated Exeed Exlantix ES electric sedan. Pricing starts at 225.9 thousand yuan, which was around 2.7 million rubles at the time of publication. The model introduces four new exterior color options and two interior trim choices, along with 21-inch wheels and a broader set of standard options that elevate the overall presentation.

In terms of specifications, the basic configuration is equipped with a 77 kWh battery delivering a projected driving range of about 680 kilometers. A mid-range variant relies on a 100 kWh battery, extending travel distance to approximately 880 kilometers. The top-tier variant incorporates a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a 100 kWh lithium battery, enabling an estimated range of around 710 kilometers without recharging. These figures reflect a staged approach to battery capacity in order to meet diverse consumer needs and price points across markets.

In another regional note, FAW Bestune Pony hatchbacks, sized similarly to the popular compact models, are slated to begin sales on July 28. This rollout marks a notable expansion for the automaker as it broadens its portfolio to appeal to a wider demographic seeking accessible, city-friendly hatchback options.
