Initial information indicates that the bus driver, born in 1967, was operating a BAZ bus on the 47th kilometer of the highway at approximately 13:40 local time. In what investigators describe as a misjudgment of safe following distance, the bus rear-ended two vehicles traveling ahead on the road, a Mercedes-Benz and a Kia. The collision disrupted traffic in the area and prompted a response from emergency services.
The driver of the bus sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital for treatment. According to officials, none of the bus passengers were reported to have suffered injuries in the incident, though assessments of all occupants were ongoing as a precautionary measure.
In a separate, previously reported event, authorities detained a 16-year-old student who was believed to be intoxicated. After a high-speed pursuit, the teen allegedly attempted to enter his mother’s car, according to traffic inspectors.
