In 2023, buyers of popular Chinese car brands in Russia showed a clear preference for white, gray, and black body colors. The Marketing Director of the Avilon dealership group, Andrey Kamensky, shared these insights with socialbites.ca, noting a strong demand for the classic color palette across multiple brands.

Kamensky explained that traditional colors remained most popular among many Chinese brands. FAW models, for example, drew the strongest interest in black, white, and silver. Chery customers also leaned toward white, gray, and various gray tones, while Geely and Omoda buyers favored black, gray, and white hues. Changan followed a similar pattern, purchasing light gray, white, and black cars in greater numbers. The Tank brand saw a notable preference for black and orange, whereas Voyah offerings attracted buyers with the Dream model in black and purple, and the Voyah Free in green, blue, and gray options.

In the electric vehicle segment, preferences shifted toward brighter finishes. Zeekr X and Li L9 were commonly chosen in green, the Zeekr 001 frequently arrived in orange, and yellow dominated the palette for Lotus Eletre buyers. At the same time, HiPhi Z and Li L7 deliveries tended to be gray, while the Avatr 11 was typically seen in white and black.

These color trends illustrate how consumer preferences can diverge between traditional internal combustion models and newer electric offerings, a pattern that holds interest for markets beyond Russia, including North America where color choices influence both marketing strategy and perceived vehicle personality.
