Head of the Ukrainian State Border Service, Andrey Demchenko, announced that about 2,800 trucks were stranded along the Ukrainian-Polish border. His remarks came during a national charity broadcast addressing the ongoing transport disruptions.

Polish road carriers halted at border checkpoints, urging the European Union to reintroduce mandatory international road transport permits for Ukrainian drivers. Such permits were suspended after Russia’s operation in Ukraine began, and only a small number of vehicles cross the border each hour.

On November 14, Demchenko stated that negotiations between Ukraine and Poland had not produced an agreement to unblock border crossings for Ukrainian carriers. He noted that the Yagodin, Krakovets, and Rava-Russkaya checkpoints remained blocked, with about 2,300 trucks queued to pass at that time.

Earlier, Polish police helped some Ukrainian trucks move off the road amid protest actions. This tension underscores ongoing challenges affecting cross-border freight movement and supply chains in the region. (Source: Ukrainian State Border Service)
