In the capital city, a tuning studio called Racing Team unveiled a new service aimed at fans of the Chinese Tank 300. The shop now offers a body kit installation that reshapes the Tank 300’s silhouette to echo the distinctive look of a premium Mercedes G-Class. This initiative has positioned Racing Team as a preferred destination for owners seeking a bold, SUV-inspired upgrade that borrows the prestige and curb appeal associated with luxury off-roaders.

The kit is manufactured in China and distributed to several markets, including Russia. Its components cover front fenders, expanded wheel arches, new headlights, a redesigned grille, upgraded front and rear bumpers, a refreshed bonnet, a roof visor, and a rear spoiler. Buyers can also opt for 20-inch wheels and additional rim spacers to intensify the stance. For added convenience, the service can include door closers, a power-operated fifth door, and upgraded interior sound insulation to enhance cabin quietness and overall refinement.

Under the styling upgrades, the Tank 300’s mechanical foundation remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a two-liter turbo engine delivering roughly 220 horsepower and features a four-wheel-drive system. The Mercedes G-Class-inspired body kit is priced at 580 thousand rubles, with turnkey installation bringing the total to 900 thousand rubles. The base price for the Chinese Tank 300 remains around 3.8 million rubles. This pricing structure reflects the blend of visual upgrades and professional installation costs that preserve factory performance while elevating the vehicle’s exterior presence.

Separately, a German consumer rights group has claimed that Mercedes-Benz Group bears responsibility for how certain vehicle devices may influence emissions readings. The case, extending over several years, involves a broad coalition of consumers and argues that diesel engines could have been tuned to yield lower emissions readings than actual performance. The development highlights ongoing debates about how manufacturers report emissions and how consumer protection bodies interpret those practices in the marketplace.

Market observers anticipate that regulatory momentum toward more competitive pricing and simpler access to styling upgrades could encourage similar projects in other regions. In Russia, for instance, there is growing interest in affordable alternatives that deliver the same visual transformation without the premium price of a fully built luxury SUV. The Omoda C5 is frequently cited as a potentially economical option that offers a distinct, head-turning look without moving up to a European badge.
