The BMW M division has unveiled the flagship XM hybrid crossover, introducing the high-performance XM Label Red to the public through the automaker’s press channel.
Compared with the standard BMW XM, the XM Label Red boosts the V8’s power by 95 horsepower to 748 hp, and torque climbs to 1,000 Nm, edging 200 Nm more than the base model. A continuously variable bi-plane sports exhaust adds a distinctive auditory presence. The eight-speed automatic transmission houses a traction motor that contributes up to 197 hp, while all four wheels provide drive for enhanced grip and acceleration. The sprint to 100 km/h is achieved in 3.8 seconds, underscoring the model’s performance credentials.
The vehicle rides on suspension with electronically controlled dampers and active roll stabilization, aiming to deliver precise handling across varying road surfaces. A cross-battery setup enables an electric-only range of up to approximately 83 kilometers, expanding low-emission driving opportunities. The XM Label Red is slated to make its global debut at the Shanghai International Auto Show, signaling BMW’s emphasis on high-performance plug-in hybrids within its luxury lineup.
Earlier market notes referenced the Tank 500 as another off-road option in Russia for sale, illustrating a regional interest in high-capacity, performance-oriented SUVs within the broader luxury-SUV segment. This context helps position the XM Label Red against other capable models offered to enthusiasts in North America and elsewhere, highlighting BMW’s strategy of blending power, efficiency, and technology in a single, unified package.
