The buyer was satisfied with his purchase for exactly one day—an attention-grabbing moment for the story of a 2021 BMW 630 XDRIVE. He had acquired the car just a day earlier, paying five million rubles for a vehicle that seemed to promise reliability and prestige. Yet, fate intervened right in the quiet courtyard of his Shchukino home. Overnight, the car vanished, vanishing like a flash of chrome in the morning light.
When the owner reported the loss, the police launched an investigation that soon revealed a startling twist: the culprit was not a professional thief from the streets, but a BMW salesperson. The plan, it turned out, had been enacted with an unlikely alliance—her sister, who was a medical student, and two male acquaintances who were unemployed. The four of them were directly involved in the hijacking scheme, orchestrating the theft and the subsequent evasion efforts.
As of now, all four suspects have been apprehended. Investigators continue to pursue leads, and the stolen vehicle remains on the official wanted list. The last confirmed sighting captured on surveillance feeds placed the BMW on the Moscow ring road near the Volokolamsk Highway corridor, a route often used for rapid, wide-area movement rather than a simple getaway. The case has prompted renewed discussions about vehicle security and driver awareness in urban and peri-urban settings.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
With no tires, public order cannot be guaranteed, and medical care cannot be delivered to those in urgent need. The issue of tire shortages touches multiple sectors, from everyday commuting to emergency response, and underscores how essential reliable road access is for a functioning city.
In a coordinated effort, the initiative known as “Behind the Wheel” joined forces with the Popular Front to launch a fundraiser. The goal is to equip vehicles used by the People’s Police and operational services of the LPR and DPR with essential tires. These include ambulances, emergency response units, humanitarian aid transport, and other critical fleet vehicles needed to support Donbass residents and, more broadly, frontline operations. Contributions can be made through the collection page, helping to stabilize a system that keeps people mobile and safe in difficult times.
