To mark the 50th anniversary of the M division, BMW is introducing a modern take on the legendary 3.0 CSL in a limited run of 50 units, as stated by the automaker’s press service.

Builds on the contemporary BMW M4 CSL platform, the special edition will showcase authentic exterior cues such as carbon fiber bumpers, front fenders, a carbon hood, and a carbon roof. The color palette echoes the classic sport styling of the 1970s 3.0 CSL, giving the car a recognizable heritage look while benefiting from modern performance and aerodynamics.

Each car in this limited series will require roughly two weeks to assemble. After assembly, vehicles undergo a final inspection before shipment to customers. The production run is planned to begin in spring 2025 at BMW’s factory in Germany, aligning with the brand’s celebration of its motorsport heritage.

Past reports noted that another automaker explored a high-performance SUV variant with Nismo tuning, a move that sparked conversations about niche performance strategies across the industry.
