A drone attack targeted a Gazelle cargo truck with an awning in the Belgorod region, with footage of a burning vehicle circulating on the regional Telegram channel Tin Belgorod.
According to the channel’s video, the kamikaze drone struck the Gazelle truck and set it on fire. The cargo type was not disclosed in the report.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional governor, confirmed that a Gazelle truck was attacked while on a road in the region, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces identified as the operators of the kamikaze drone.
Officials stated that the incident occurred on a stretch of highway between the villages of Oktyabrsky and Yasnye Zori, and that the driver sustained no injuries. Fire brigade teams arrived at the scene, and authorities noted that this marks another incident in which a vehicle caught fire during conflict-related activity in the region.
In a related, unclear incident previously reported from the Yaroslavl region, a separate case involved a car thief and an ambulance crew arriving at the scene; the car subsequently collided with a truck shortly thereafter.
As a result of the incident, three people were injured, including two healthcare workers, and the suspect was detained. A criminal case was opened concerning unlawful taking of a vehicle without intent to steal.
Earlier coverage also noted another security-related incident in Chita where a taxi driver was assaulted and placed in a vehicle trunk for an extended period.
