A truck from the Chinese manufacturer BAW, with production planned in Russia, was unveiled at the MIMS Automobility Moscow exhibition, according to Avto.ru Magazine.

The BAW lineup for the Russian market includes 3.5-tonne models offered with both single‑row and double‑row cabs. The wheelbase measures 5985 mm, while the loading platform length ranges from 3 to 3.7 meters depending on the cabin configuration. The interior width comes in at 1780 mm. A two‑ton version is slated to join the range later. For the Russian market, the trucks are expected to be powered by a 2.0‑liter engine delivering 122 or 133 horsepower, mated to a manual transmission. These engines are designed to run on methane and gasoline, offering flexible fuel options.

The business plan highlighted by the company indicates that Build New Mobility (BNM) will first import trucks from China. In a subsequent phase, units assembled at the BNM facility in Bryansk will enter the market. The manufacturer aims to reach sales of up to 100 vehicles per month and has projected a price point around 2.1 million rubles per unit.

There is also a note that Changan Automobile previously increased prices for five models in Russia, a development that has influenced market expectations for new entrants like the BAW lineup, as buyers weigh local assembly versus imported supply and the impact of pricing on overall demand.
