AvtoVAZ plans to roll out twelve new car models by 2030, a move that signals a decisive expansion in its product lineup. This development was reported by Izvestia and cited from the President of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov.
The executive outlined an ambitious goal for the company, explaining that success will be measured by a strong market position. He stated that reaching a market share of 30 to 35 percent would mark a winning strategy for AvtoVAZ in the years ahead.
Beyond volume growth, Sokolov indicated ongoing work on advanced propulsion technology. The company is developing a hybrid powerplant and a turbocharged engine, underscoring a push toward more efficient and high-performance powertrains. He confirmed that the Lada Niva SUVs are slated to receive engines with a displacement of 1.8 liters as part of this modernization effort.
In addition to product development, AvtoVAZ is pursuing collaboration with an eastern partner to support automobile production. This strategic alliance is described as a key element in expanding manufacturing capacity and broadening the company’s global footprint.
There has been talk in the market about AvtoVAZ introducing a new car brand within Russia, signaling potential brand diversification alongside its established Lada lineup. The Izhevsk plant has already signaled progress in this direction with the initial rollout of electric models in the Lada Largus family, marking a step toward electrification for the brand.
