In remarks made during a ceremony that marked the resumption of production for the updated Lada Vesta at the same Togliatti site, Manturov reiterated that the updated Granta would reach the market by late next year. This expansion of the Lada lineup aligns with AvtoVAZs ongoing efforts to modernize its product slate and improve safety, efficiency, and contemporary design language across its popular segments.
Earlier, in September of the previous year, Manturov had outlined plans for a new B-segment Lada family that is slated to debut by the end of 2024, with a crossover built on the Vesta platform expected to begin production in 2025. At AvtoVAZs scientific and technical center, engineers reported the creation of 25 prototype vehicles representing the new Granta B family. These prototypes underwent a series of tests, including safety assessments, to validate design choices and performance targets before entering any larger scale manufacturing phase. Maxim Sokolov, the companys head, confirmed ongoing testing and evaluation while noting the brands historical commitment to producing the Lada Granta family since 2011.
