AvtoVAZ Launches Classic 22 Anti-Crisis Grants on the Assembly Line
On June 8, AvtoVAZ restarted production of cars featuring the anti-crisis version of the Grants called Classic 22. The Tolgiatti city administration shared a video on VKontakte showcasing the assembly line where these vehicles are built.
The anti-crisis Grant runs on the same conveyor lane that previously carried all other variants of the model. From the outset, the line has produced three body styles: sedans, liftbacks, and station wagons, and the new Classic 22 follows this established pattern.
The cars come equipped with electric steering, power windows for the front doors, heated and power-adjustable rearview mirrors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, daytime running lights, an onboard computer, central locking, and an audio setup with four speakers. They ride on 14 inch steel wheels with decorative caps and include an on board computer for vehicle diagnostics and operation indicators.
Historically the Granta model also offered a Classic version as the most affordable option. In the latest update, the price of the new Classic 22 dropped by another 103 200 rubles. The question people are asking is why this price reduction occurred. The answer lies in supply chain constraints that caused the plant to pause production at times last spring. The current lineup on the conveyor now includes ABS with BAS and ESC stability control, airbags, an ERA GLONASS module, a security system, an immobilizer, and pretensioners for seat belts, with additional features like fog lamps for safer nighttime visibility.
- Observers who follow the comments on social pages note that air conditioning is not yet present on the assembled cars. It is expected to appear in a simpler variant of the model called anti-crisis Granta Drive Active.
