AvtoVAZ posted a standout performance, delivering the strongest monthly sales in a decade by moving 40.9 thousand vehicles in October 2023, according to the plant’s press service. The company highlighted the solid momentum, noting that thisOctober result marked a turning point for the brand in the regional market.
Year over year, Lada sales surged by 113.7 percent. AvtoVAZ estimated that Lada’s share of the Russian market reached about 40 percent during the month. Within October, roughly 21 thousand Lada Granta units and more than 9 thousand Lada Vesta models were sold from the production lines, underscoring the popularity of these core models among Russian buyers.
In addition, sales included about 5.2 thousand Lada Niva Legend and 5.1 thousand Lada Niva Travel SUVs, further strengthening the lineup of accessible, rugged options that appeal to a broad segment of customers seeking practicality and reliability.
For the first ten months of 2023, AvtoVAZ reported total new-car sales of 283.5 thousand, reflecting an 98 percent increase compared with the same period a year earlier. Of these, 33.4 thousand were Lada Vesta, with 3.3 thousand units representing the Lada light commercial vehicle segment. This growth underscores a sustained demand trend across both passenger and light commercial vehicles in the brand family.
Market observers noted that AvtoVAZ had previously signaled price adjustments for most Lada models in November, a move that could influence buyer decisions and order timing as the year closes.
