AvtoVAZ Stays on Track for Updated Lada Vesta Sales

AvtoVAZ has confirmed that the launch of the updated Lada Vesta will proceed as planned, with sales expected to begin in May 2023 according to the company’s press service, a detail reported by Autonews.ru.

Earlier coverage from Vedomosti noted that a dealer conference in Sochi suggested the redesigned Vesta would reach its first customers in June 2023. The company clarified that while shipments to dealerships were scheduled to start in May, the exact timing of consumer availability would depend on how quickly dealers could receive and stock the vehicles. A representative from the Russian Association of Auto Dealers indicated that customer deliveries typically commence about a month after vehicles appear in dealer warehouses.

The updated Lada Vesta entered production in February 2022, but production faced a temporary halt due to a shortage of components. Subsequently, AvtoVAZ decided to relocate Vesta assembly from the Izhevsk plant to the Tolyatti facility to streamline output and better serve demand.

Earlier statements also noted that production would resume with a 16-valve, four-cylinder engine delivering 106 horsepower. This engine had previously powered the Lada Granta, and plans called for it to be installed in the Vesta starting in May.

Market observers in Canada and the United States can expect continued updates from AvtoVAZ as the company navigates supply chain constraints and production realignments. The ongoing adjustments aim to ensure a steady supply of the updated model to meet retail demand and dealer fulfillment timelines. (Autonews.ru)
