The most recent price adjustment by the domestic automaker took place not long ago—at the start of August, when the Largus and Granta saw changes. Yet the current climate is such that new price moves could occur on a day-to-day basis. In an interview with Izvestia conducted at the Eastern Economic Forum, the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov, spoke about AvtoVAZ’s approach to pricing.

We monitor our costs and the costs linked to our production—these have edged higher over the recent period. Because of this, we believe the price levels the market has reached today are unlikely to rise further in the near term, unlike in the previous period, according to Sokolov.

He added that AvtoVAZ does not plan to push prices upward unless external factors tied to the component base escalate beyond control.

The president also admitted that, beyond a supply crisis, the plant faces a sharp uptick in parts costs driven by multiple influences. Sokolov noted that electronics prices have surged, affecting both imports and locally produced components. Some elements have climbed by tenfold. “But these are new realities we must adapt to,” concluded the head of AVTOVAZ.

  • Additionally, Sokolov explained how many parts necessary for assembling Lada vehicles remain not imported.
  • “Driving” can now be watched on RuTube.
