The average prices for used cars, accounted over a three year period from issue, returned to the figures recorded in the same timeframe a year earlier during the first quarter of 2023. This information comes from The National Industrial Information Agency, which bases its conclusions on its own analysis of price dynamics in the market for used vehicles.
Data show that the market for freshly certified used cars reached a peak in the second quarter of 2022. In that peak, models in the mass segment carried an average price just above 2.8 million rubles, while premium segment vehicles averaged around 8.4 million rubles, revealing a clear split between mainstream and luxury pricing bands.
In the following quarter, the average price for premium cars declined by 17.8 percent, and the average price for mass market cars fell by 9 percent. The quarterly results for 2023 indicate that prices returned to the levels seen in the same period the previous year, with the mass market averaging about 2.7 million rubles per vehicle batch and premium models averaging around 7.6 million rubles.
