Former Karachay-Cerkess senator Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul were sentenced to life terms in prison, and a substantial number of their original vehicles were seized by the authorities, according to RIA News. The Moscow City Court subsequently ordered that a portion of the cars be transferred to state ownership, including a Bentley and the former Chaika GAZ, as part of the assets confiscated during the case.

The presiding judge, Elena Guchenkova, explained that the 1976 Chaika vehicle would be returned as reimbursement in civil proceedings. She also noted that the value of the confiscated property was significantly lower than the amounts claimed by the victims, which shaped the court’s asset disposition in favor of the state.

On December 27, the court found that the Arashukovs were guilty of orchestrating the murders of Aslan Zhukov, who headed the youth movement Adege-Khese, and Fral Shebzukhov, who served as president of the KChR. Raul Arashukov was additionally convicted of embezzling more than 4.4 billion rubles from entities controlled by Gazprom. In the prior year, assets totaling about 1.5 billion rubles were moved to the treasury through confiscation from the family.

Earlier reports indicated that the Moscow City Court recovered 12 million rubles from the Arashukovs, directing those funds to the families of the victims who were killed under their orders, as part of the restitution process. These developments reflect a broader pattern of post-conviction asset recovery and ongoing civil procedures connected to the case, underscoring the state authorities’ efforts to recover funds and address the losses suffered by victims and their relatives.
