Vabe-SpetsAvto, a subsidiary of the state-owned Rostec group, has unveiled an ambulance variant derived from the Lada Niva Travel, officially named Medical Service M1. The project highlights a rapid reconfiguration of the cabin from a standard passenger interior into a space equipped for medical use.
In its passenger configuration, the Niva Travel accommodates four people. In the medical setup, it can transport two passengers and a patient on a stretcher, or a passenger seated in a wheelchair, with the additional space allocated for essential medical gear and patient accommodation. The interior transformation is described by the source as capable of supporting a single occupant during the conversion process, reflecting its modular approach to on-site adaptability.
Logistics and Community Support Efforts
Public safety and timely medical response rely on reliable equipment, including tires suited to demanding conditions. A joint initiative with the Popular Front is organizing contributions to fund tires for emergency and operational vehicles used by public safety services, humanitarian delivery teams, and support units across affected regions. Donations are being coordinated through a designated collection page to help ensure ambulances and related vehicles remain ready for duty.
