Ambulance Access Hindered by Snow in Chuvashia; Investigation Under Way

Snow fell heavily in Bolshaya Vyla, a village in Chuvashia, preventing an ambulance from reaching an 81-year-old patient. This update comes via TASS, citing the public prosecutor’s office as the source of the information.

When medical professionals arrived at the scene, they found that the route to the patient’s home was blocked by thick snow and a lack of passable roads. As a result, responders had to transfer the elderly patient to the ambulance about two kilometers away, using improvised devices to navigate the snow and carry the patient through the deep drifts.

At present, the patient is receiving care in a hospital. The local prosecutor’s office has initiated a review into why it was impossible for an ambulance to reach the residence directly. Meanwhile, the ministry stated that an investigation will determine the reasons behind the difficulties emergency vehicles face in getting to certain homes.

Earlier reports noted a separate incident on March 13 in Irkutsk, where ten vehicles were involved in a collision. preliminary information pointed to ice as a contributing factor. The incident occurred on a slope along one of the city streets.
