In the Lodeynopolsky district of the Leningrad region, a collision involving a Mazda, a heavy vehicle, and a tourist bus was reported through the Telegram channel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The incident took place on the Murmansk highway. Preliminary information indicates that the Mazda driver attempted an overtaking maneuver and struck a DAF tractor in the opposite lane. The impact then involved the bus carrying about 40 passengers in a tangential contact.
Authorities stated that the Mazda driver sustained fatal injuries at the scene, the truck driver was taken to a medical facility with moderate injuries, and none of the passengers or the bus driver were reported injured. The police described the outcome in a formal release.
Images from the scene show the Mazda’s wrecked structure, with significant damage to multiple components and debris scattered around the site.
Additionally, the Telegram channel of the St. Petersburg police published footage from a separate mass collision on Sofiyeskaya Street, where a dump truck collided with a stream of moving vehicles in the oncoming lane.
