Russian drivers who suffer from excessive sweating need to adjust their diet, nutritionist and therapist Antonina Savolyuk told socialbites.ca.
“The harder it is to digest food, the more heat it produces. Heat production in the body occurs due to the work of the liver, the “hottest” organ, and skeletal muscles. If you sit in the car for a long time and eat a meal high in carbohydrates, protein or fat, the liver will start working actively. This leads to heating of the body,” the expert explained.
Savolyuk noted that if a driver eats ice cream or drinks sweet soda in the heat, insulin will be released in his body and cortisol will rise, which will “speed up” the nervous system and increase blood circulation.
Therefore, the driver will be even warmer. Before the trip, Savolyuk advised drivers to eat raw, fresh vegetables, which have a cooling effect. Fermented drinks such as ayran and tan also have a similar property.
“Heavy meals are best left for dinner when the weather gets colder. For lunch, it is better to eat fresh vegetables or not too sweet fruits and berries,” the doctor concluded.
