In the process of integrating the variator into the design of Lada Vesta, AvtoVAZ engineers had to revise the design of 38 groups of parts and modernize more than 100 components. AvtoVAZ product and program director Oleg Grunenkov told this to the socialbites.ca correspondent at the presentation of Lada Vesta.
“This is a new oil pan, where additional mounting points have been added, the drive disk is used instead of the flywheel, additional mounting points have been added for the driveshaft support, a controller with new calibrations for this power unit. Moreover, since the mass of the power unit has increased, we use the correct support with three mounting points and an extended platform,” Grunenkov noted.
Also for Vesta with CVT, an original air filter housing and battery housing were introduced, wiring harnesses, pipelines and engine fender were replaced.
