According to the ministry, the accident occurred on the Kuzedeevo-Mundybash-Tashtagol highway. The driver of the VAZ-2104 was moving at an unsafe speed for the prevailing weather conditions and crossed into the oncoming lane, crashing into a Volgabas bus traveling there.
Later, another bus, Liaz, crashed into the passenger car. The Main Directorate of the Kemerovo Region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation announced that the latter moves in the same direction as the VAZ-2104.
Department officials added that there were a total of 56 passengers on the buses at the time of the accident. The drivers of three vehicles and 11 other people suffered varying degrees of injuries.
“All victims were provided with necessary medical care. Due to the nature of their injuries, most were prescribed outpatient treatment,” the publication says.
The statement also states that after the incident, law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Police are currently establishing the full circumstances of the accident.
