“Production of three models will begin in the next three years: Lada Aura in 2024, Lada Iskra in 2025 and a new crossover on the Vesta platform in 2026,” Manturov said.
According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, AvtoVAZ’s production plan for 2024 will be increased by almost a quarter. The domestic automobile manufacturer plans to produce at least 500 thousand Lada cars next year. He noted that the volume of the investment program will not be lower than this year’s volume (about 40 billion rubles).
The extended Aura sedan based on Lada Vesta was shown in Sochi in June 2023. The car is equipped with a 1.8 engine with 122 hp. and automatic transmission. Aura is built on the basis of the updated Vesta and has an additional 25 cm of space in the cabin for rear row passengers. The interior of the sedan is made of Russian-made genuine leather and a first-class audio system is installed. According to AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov, the cost of the new product will be more than 2 million rubles.
