AvtoVAZ will have to pay 60 billion rubles to the budget for recycling fees in 2023. The president of the company, Maxim Sokolov, spoke about this: transmits RIA News.

“In December we will have to pay 60 billion rubles from the advance to the budget… We will pay every penny to the state,” Sokolov told reporters on the sidelines of the Federation Council.

According to the head of AvtoVAZ, the scrap collection payment for next year will depend specifically on the level of production and may reach 80 billion rubles.

Previously, automakers paid scrap taxes every three months, but this year the payment was postponed to December. AvtoVAZ will have to pay recycling fees in 2023 for the fourth quarter of 2022 and the first and third quarters of 2023.

The recycling fee has been indexed in the Russian Federation since August 1, for passenger cars the rate increased by an average of 1.7-3.7 times (depending on engine size). Russian automakers with a special investment agreement (SPIC) with a high level of product localization are entitled to industrial subsidies; in industry these are often considered compensation for waste collection. At the same time, the increase in recycling collection had almost no impact on the amount of budget funds allocated to support the automotive sector in 2024. The exception was the preferential car loan program, whose budget almost doubled. reported Kommersant’s newspaper.

Drivers before explained the reason for the sudden increase in recycling collection.
